Most insects with bright colors like this use them to signal that they're poisonous, but this species is mostly seen in systems closer to the galactic core, run by a mechanical empire which need not eat. Perhaps this pattern brings back some sort of deep-rooted fear in such an empire. It seems to be fairly effective; the planets that this species has spread to seem far less affected by those mechanical individuals, despite being in systems that belong to them.</description><tags>arthropolooza2026</tags></asset><asset><id>501123088337</id><name>Mantis Shrimp</name><thumb>http://www.spore.com/static/thumb/501/123/088/501123088337.png</thumb><image>http://www.spore.com/static/image/501/123/088/501123088337_lrg.png</image><author>albissen</author><created>2026-04-13 12:55:05.257</created><rating>5.7446804</rating><type>CREATURE</type><subtype>0x9ea3031a</subtype><parent>501123088321</parent><description>(Odontodactylus scyllarus)</description><tags>arthropolooza2026</tags></asset></assets>
