Excluding the poles and the heights of the mountains the surface of the world where not still covered by the seas is made up of bogs swamps and marshlands and obscured in a rolling constant flow of fog. They are amphibious creatures, however they do not swim. Pleador have three specialized bladders in their upper backs which allow them to remain submerged in the mire for long periods of time. The central of the three bladders acts as a huge air reserve which the animal is equipped to breathe from and recycle allowing the reserve to last that much longer. The other two bladders act as ballast, storing water as needed from the Pleador’s surroundings to allow the creature to stay submerged while expending very little energy. They graze the muck and clay on the bottom of the swamps seeking out the specific bulb like roots upon which they feed, those of the Prestarian Swamp Orchid. The barbs on the petals of this flower and the thorns that line its stems produce one of the swiftest acting neurotoxins in the known galaxy. The Pleador have an acute sense of taste, acting like a sense of smell it allows them to seek out the precious roots in the grimy blackness with daunting precision.

Originating on the planet Olidan, they are the epitome of an infestation gone rampant. Able to live in the most inhospitable of environments, including the vacuum of space, they have proven impossible to eradicate. Volic Sleech have mastered the process of photosynthesis; something normally associated with plant life. They are able to use this technique to grow exceptionally large without the need to truly ‘feed’. Because of this, there is no environment they cannot adapt to. Though they can not grow in an arid, dark or oxygen-less environment, they will not die. This has allowed them to spread to every planet and every asteroid in the Naxim Nebulae. Their young grow from near-microscopic eggs which are constantly secreted from reproductive glands on the underside of their bodies. Since the Volic Sleech are asexual, this reproductive process has proven a remarkable success in spreading their kind quickly once they are introduced to new ecosystems. Their young remain in an egg-state anywhere from six days to a year. It is unknown what actually triggers the eggs to hatch, but this oddity is the key factor in their spread across systems. The eggs are coated in a highly sticky resin that allows them to cling to anything from the bottom of feet or landing gear on spacecraft. Thus, the Volic Sleech were unknowingly brought to other systems as microscopic stowaways when vast quantities of Purple Spice were discovered on their home world. Their growth seems accelerated through adolescence then begins to slow once they reach adulthood. They are able to double their body mass every 60 days on even the faintest traces of water, sunlight or oxygen – a marvel that has been studied by many scientists from countless different races. Yet despite how amazing the Volic Sleech are, they are unable to survive outside the Naxim Nebulae. It is speculated that this is due to the unique radiation signature of the nebulae and studies have been underway for years to use this as a means of exterminating them. I was told repeatedly that the decision to terminate my account was final and would not be reversed because of two other minor language bans. After three desperate attempts replying to "Do Not Reply" account termination notices from EA, and logging into EA's CSwebsite asking that they at least review the creation, explaining that other users abused the report system as a form of grief/harrassment, one Tier3 CSR took the time to review the creation and reinstate my account with an apology, also adding that the "Detail to my creations are uncanny" and "Keep up the great work" also jokingly "My acct. should stay terminated on account of those scary Klowns." Meanwhile my 1st friend on Spore and eventual UBD cohort, Dirtymeat was arranging a massive show of disapproval along with the Militia + my good friend Mr.Fisto was taking it to the forums, lol, enduring the haters and even a forummaster aka Parkaboy locking out Fistos thread then having to reinstate it with an apology after making feeble statements like "If Hydro_Glyph had waited a bit the suspension would have been lifted without fuss." riiiiight (r.i.p. ju1ietta) After a week of waiting and receiving numerous Do Not Respond statements that my account had been terminated and all creations would be removed, the decision was final. Fact: My first suspension was a simple curse word used on public television, the second suspension was calling "sporemaster" parkaboy a feminine hygiene apparatus. After the account termination everyone started loading this Lycan to their sites, and the MPN was dominated by Ghouls. Several slots & pages were filled with Lycans including #1-4. Thanks for supporting the rally everyone, I return commented 150+ creators but had to "approve-all" 150+ after a week, it was a great end to an otherwise miserable experience. If ANYONE has anything to contest, or states anywhere that this was not an attempt to eliminate my account then they have either a personal grudge with me or the existence of UBD. EA keeps record of all "violations" no matter how minor, or ridicules they are and believe me my "violations" in no way appropriated such a response.

The Proto-Dragnon was the earliest known predecessor of the Dragnon race. Large, terrifying and quick, it was an impressive predator for its time. Smaller of frame than atypical ‘Dragons’, the Proto-Dragnon were apex predators with no equals. Easily weighing between 4-5 tons, these reptilian monsters were heavily plated with thick scales affording them protection from injury and harm. For weapons, their spiked tail could be used like a bullwhip and their feet were equipped with sharp, dagger-like iron claws. Their teeth were equally sharp and deadly, able to rip into prey with ease. Adorning their head were three sets of massive spiked horns which they used to gore and pierce their quarry. A fourth set of spiked horns were located on their upper backs, just above their unique wings. These operated as three separate appendages jointed and connected along a small portion of the spine. Instead of a single thick webbing, multiple flaps of scaled skin lined each wing appendage. This allowed the Proto-Dragnon more maneuverability and control in flight and may have given them the ability to hover. Their eyesight was keen and their sense of smell and hearing were likely enhanced. Their skeletal structure suggests they were agile and capable climbers. They were exceptionally fast and probably used their speed and agility to chase down and attack their prey. They would have been able to take down the largest of animals, up to or exceeding three times their own size. Being the largest predators, this allowed them to grow to terrifying proportions themselves. The Proto-Dragnon thrived in every climate and in every ecosystem. They were true survivors and it is no surprise they would endure and evolve into something greater. The Kro-Dragnon is one of the early ancestors of the Dragnon race. Descended from Dragons, these creatures marked the mid-way evolutionary stage between pure animal and a sentient species. Retaining most of the traits of their Dragon ancestry, the Kro-Dragnon displayed the first stages of bipedalism as well as the change in their forward feet and legs to clawed hands and arms. Their wings have been reduced to vestigial appendages that no longer afford the ability of flight. Gone too is the larger head and mouth, replaced with a leaner more stream-lined face and jaw. The Kro-Dragnon retained the hard exterior skin and scales of its predecessor, but much of the bulk of their bodies has been lost. Still impressively large, they adapted to a smaller frame to compensate for the apparent lack of larger prey they used to feed upon which previously allowed them to grow to much larger proportions. Smaller, but just as powerful, they likely used bone and stone as primitive tools. Their brain size nearly doubled that of their predecessors which may have given them the rudimentary ability to think rather than act on pure instinct alone. Fossilized remains of Kro-Dragnon have been found in what may be burial mounds that exhibit possible ceremonialism. If true, then the Kro-Dragnon was not just a solitary wanderer. They possibly banded together in packs and may have formed family bonds. Speech too may have been possible, based upon the change in their vocal cortex. They are herbivores, and feed on wood pulp which they grind from the trunks of the sleeker fast growing soft wood trees commonly found growing near the large jungle rivers. The Logger Beetles are a critical species in the ecosystem on Treussx, providing opportunities for many other species to survive and flourish. The fruits of the trees felled by the logger beetles would otherwise only be available to canopy dwelling creatures, and the paths they cut through the dense jungles soon become highways and lifelines leading to and from the life giving rivers and water sources. The Spined Logger Beetles use their two serrated saw like front claws to cleave and cut through the trees they feed on as well as to dissuade most predators. To deal with the few creatures brave enough to face the grip of those claws they also have a series of extremely sharp spines protecting from assault from both the front and rear. They are aquatic creatures, but because of they're unique colouring, they are hard to spot on land and in water.During the hotter seasons, the Ariatoi spends most of its time on land, foraging for the extremely hard skined plants that most other herbivores ignore.They have specially adapted they're mouth to be able to chew through the skin and get at the highly nutricious center of the Kinoba Plant.Because it is so high in nutrients, the Ariatoi doesn't need to feed as often in the summer, and can last about a month without food if neccissary.When they need to rest, they will find a wet or moist low lying area such as a swamp or body of water, and then proceed to lie back up in the water.They lie back up because the spines on their back have large blood vessels that heat up the blood when the Ariatoi is not moving about.During the Winter season however, they spend all their time in the large oceans that cover most of the planet.They can stay underwater up to 3 hours because their skin is able to trap oxygen in the water and use it when the creature runs out of breath.The Ariatoi usually stays near the shore because they don't have to go as deep to reach the aquatic vegetation on the sea floor.If the creature goes out further however, the two bone like structures on their head are actually bioluminescent organs that are as bright as most light bulbs.This and their cat-like night vision allows them to see in the worst of light, even pitch black, they still have sight up to 30 meters.Often they will travel alone, but during the winter season, they tend to go to the deep underwater caves that contain pockets of breathable gas.In these caves, they shall find a mate, and mate with them. The babies are carried in a large growth on the females back in between their spines.By the female is ready to give birth, it is spring, and the species moves toward land and the large tide pools found on the coast of some of the islands.The females give birth in these tide pools and raise the children near-by.The children reach full maturity at about 2 years. It is a fairly small creature, but it's razor sharp fangs and ruthless dispositon make it a threat. The tendrils on it's head are used for spode knows what, and we're not going to find out soon, as most scientists refuse to study such a freak of nature.

They aren't territorial, as they are a nomadic race. It eats by crushing it's prey into incredibly tiny peices with it's long tentacle, and then eats them with it's filter feeder. It has been speculated that the Vuallia was mutated with the purpose of destroying planetary ecosystems.

Of the many lesser beasts enslaved by the Memnoch Daemons, only few possess any modicum of intelligence. The Pit Demon is one such creature. Genetic manipulation has modified them to be more terrifying than what nature had intended and also to enhance their already unique physical traits. Somewhat domesticated and bred for indentured servitude to the Memnoch Daemons, the Pit Demon is a terror-inducing sight to behold. Typically used as ‘guard dogs’ of sorts, the Pit Demon is often found guarding entrances to spice mines, buildings and sensitive areas aboard terrestrial and interstellar vessels. They seem capable of understanding rudimentary commands and can even respond to questions with grunts or roars. Weighing over a ton, Pit Demons are massive brutes in both stature and musculature. One of more striking characteristics of their appearance are the two massive horns that protrude from their skulls forward along the ridge of their head out past their nose. Typically two to three feet in length, they are sharp as spears and can easily pierce or gore flesh. They have protruding, bony plates that adorn the length of their spine which would seem to be intended for protection. Their face and head and most of their back is covered in a thick, almost rock-like armor. They have large hands and feet with long, razor sharp talons capable of rending limbs apart or tearing through bodies. It is perhaps the striking red/black color of their striped bodies that gives the Pit Demon it’s fearsome and terror-inducing appearance. They truly appear to come straight from the depths of Hell. But the roar of the Pit Demon is what induces the most fear and terror. Piercing loud and carrying for miles, their roar is seems to shake the very ground and is absolutely terrifying to hear. Of the many strange and over-sized creatures on the planet Kuata’Kak, none are more recognizable and plentiful than the Crabloids. With hundreds of sub-species, they are the most dominant and abundant of all the lifeforms that populate this rich water world. None however, are more prosperous and wide-spread as the Red-Spotted Crabloid. Weighing between 30 and 70 pounds, they are the largest of all the Crabloids. Like all Crabloids, they spend sunlight hours on land and retreat to the safety of the oceans at night. While they are typically scavengers and opportunists by nature, they are also quite capable of hunting smaller prey on their own. With two pair of double-split legs, they are able to pierce fish, smaller crustaceans and even animals and hold them in place while they feed. They have two sets of mandibles which allow them to tear and chew food while a third set of sub-dorsal mandibles are used to crack and break open shells of all types. Their chitin shell is dense and hard except at the joint and protects them from most predators. They have a pair of protruding eyes that despite being large, give the Crabloids very poor distance vision. Being too large to bury themselves in sand or dirt like their smaller ancestors, they tend to seek the shelter of rocks, reefs and coastal caves. They are agile climbers able to withstand pounding surf while clinging to rocks or when scaling steep cliffs. Atypical of Crabloids, they mate in the oceans where the female lay hundreds of eggs that hatch within weeks. They grow exceptionally fast and take to land toward the end of their first year. They grow to adult size within three years and continue to grow larger over the course of their thirty year lifespan. The Red-Spotted Crabloid has the added distinction of being the most sought-after of all Crabloids to placate the culinary desires of the galactic community. The meat of the Red-Spotted Crabloid is the most tender, most flavorful and most desired by many civilizations across the galactic market. Crescenti are a solitary predator found prowling the vast ranges of Parani'il. They are named for the strange cartilaginous appendage that slopes across its horn, before rising upwards in a curve. This strange quirk of nature appears to serve no purpose, at least one that has been discovered. With short bursts of speed and an extraordinary jaw power, they have earned their role as top predator with ease. A massive horn protruding off the beasts' skulls quickly gore any prey unlucky enough to get near it. Due to their highly predatory and territory behaviour, Crescenti must be widely distributed to allow the species' survival. It takes such energy to hunt their prey that it is necessary to feed many times their weight every couple of days. The only time any number of Crescenti congregate is during a brief mating season of only four days a year. Even during this period, it is only two or three that will come in contact. These are always females, however, as it is only this contact that males will allow.

Feeding: Hirrrting don't have true mouths and instead use the front two feet to feed. The stick-like part of the foot is hollow and contains a long, thin proboscis. When hungry, the Hirrrting will impale a plant or animal with its front two feet and drink the sap or blood. Hirrrting usually live an herbivorous life, but during breeding season they will kill and eat other animals to get nutrients they need for eggs to develop.

Tales of the Siren, Part 1. They speak of the screeching…they speak of the swarms, the massive beasts crawling over the city, out of nowhere. The power of the flood was equal to a tsunami. Buildings fell, hundreds died. They fed for years, finally satisfying the hunger that had slept inside of them throughout their journey. From what scientists could tell, something had silently entered the atmosphere and crashed, releasing the swarms. The Siren were content inside the city, until the corpses ran out. Only bones and rubble scattered he streets, but the Siren were still hungry. They spread like a disease, and soon received the name of Locust. Working more like ants, they constantly returned to the first city to fall, entering with thousands of dead humans. Observers concluded that there was some master force, like a Queen ant, that required large amounts of food to survive. This master beast was classified as the Sovereign Siren. Walled cities were created, with the purpose of keeping the creature out. These soon became prisons of extermination. The beasts could easily scale the walls, but the humans could not. Few humans escaped. The moon was the short term destination for these last remaining souls. The proper technology had just been developed, but this was the first test. Sovereign Siren viewed the Humans as lucky, and put her swarms to work, imitating the capabilities of human technology.

Parasiticks roam the open Wastelands freely while feeding off the bodily fluids and soft tissues of other Tumors. They are a welcome sight, should one find themselves outnumbered or surrounded by a pack of starving Tumors eager for freshmeat. Parasiticks savor the blood and bile that only their bretheren can provide, far more than that of any normal creature. It is not uncommon to find a single Parasitick feasting on several Tumors at once, as they most often dominate their prey with brute force...but if they cannot find another Tumor to feed from they will surely attack anything else with a heartbeat. They are an interesting species of "Tumor" in that during larval stages, they locate and attach themselves to a host and siphon nutrients from what will eventually become little more than a senile "babysitter", At that stage the larvae uses the Host much like a camel does water, slowly sustaining itself through long periods of travel with a still living/thinking host as it perpetuates its survival and growth until slowly merging with the host completely.. _____________________________________________________ #3 on MPN 04/16/09

About two times the height of a human, they tower over most of the small insects that abide in the sand, though they are far from immune to predation. Many of the insects that dwell in the sands have, over millions of years, grown into mammoth proportions, easily snapping up anything that is unlucky enough to venture over their mound. Gel'bari are packed with muscle, allowing them to usually bound away at any notice of subterranean movement. Omnivorous, Gel'bari make do with small carnivores, but any vegetation is quickly stripped with obvious need. The soaring temperatures of Deriniac are beyond harsh, and to cope with this Gel'bari use an interesting mechanism to cool themselves. The set of rods that arc across their back is actually a hollow tube system that filters blood through, allowing most of the heat to dissipate into the rods. The substance is highly valued as it's combustion temperature is to high to have been discovered by such restricted means as of yet.

This hideous creature spends its days in the caves of planet Clefchryn, and as such has little skin pigmentation. It uses its highly venomous stinger as an arm as well, pulling its prey towards its mouth as it feeds. Despite being a cave dwelling creature, little can escape the horrible radiation on the planet, and as such the Vebulid often gets strange bonelike growths on its skin. Despite this, the creature seems to flourish. Vebulids are very noisy creatures as well. Rubbing the bony growths on its back together creates chittering sounds, which is how the creature communicates, and looks for a mate. The females often give birth to anywhere from 80-120 offspring, encased in egg clutches. This is because the Vebulid is very small when born, and are a prey item of most larger cave creatures.

Orillus-Xap lives in flat brush lands and is an ambush pedator by means of a trapdoor burrow, much like a spider. It is only a short distance 'pouncer' so if the prey eludes the trap, it won't give chase. Should it have success, prey is dragged below ground for consumption. That form of tactic in predation allows it to tackle much larger prey, which means it doesn't have to feed as often. Breeding is very risky for males as they can end up on the dinner plate. Should a female accept a mate, that to is short lived unless he is fast of foot. Young are born in the burrow. They will stay feeding on scraps until 'mom' notices them, in which case she'll eat them unless they can beat a hasty exit! In essence, within the Orillus world everyone is fair game. Ice-Mites are probably the most important working creature in the Choa-Len Empire next to a Snoggle. The mites are very docile and are easy to tame. Discovered in early space exploration, they have the unique ability to take a frozen waste land or planet and turn it into usable land withinin a few generations of mites. Ice-Mites are very hardy and able to withstand frigid temperatures that would kill the strongest of species due to their odd antifreeze like blood. This makes transplanting them anywhere very easy. The secret to their terraforming success is the capability to ingest most minerals, microbes and even the gas from gas vents. Now this is the amazing part, it is in their by product, they produce a living fungus waste. This fungus grows rapidly and turns ice areas to a rich atmosphere producing plant matter that is capable of supporting more microbial life. As this life grows and dies, its by product makes a rich soil base. It really is a wonderful cycle. Choa-len simply drop a few Ice-Mites on a planet, they eat whatever they find, breed and make lots of little mites that eat more and then in turn produce lots of fungal waste material. The fungus spreads, giving more land to the mites to grow with and so the cycle goes on. When the planet is terraformed to a T1 stage, the Choa-len bring in larger plants and other animals to balance the planet. As the population grows on the planet, the mites must be controled lest they eat all that was brought in to balance the planet. This is why a stronger carnivore is introduced to the planet in the next step of colonization. Usually a few Sven's are introduced in areas of Ice-Mite over population. Choa-Len prefer to use Ice-Mites as it is a more 'organic' method of colonization and requires less intervention on their part. This 'wait an let nature take it's course' attitude fits the Choa-en Philosophy very well. In the event of a rare failure of terraforming, they simply just view it as a Zen result that wasn't meant to be. [Creature design by Al B. Bach]

A foul little parasite, the Bootiotru is one of the most common inhabitants of the living planet, Vitron. The Loper is an herbivore that inhabits the desert regions on Bra'Tak IV. They are timid and shy and travel in small packs for protection. Able to withstand severe temperature fluctuations from freezing cold to blistering hot, they are well suited to life in the desert extremes. Their eyes have two lids, an outer lid that protects from blowing debris and an inner lid that constantly lubricates and clears the eye of fine dust and sand particles. They retain fluids extremely well and can travel for days without so much as a drop of water. They are able to digest the coarsest of grasses and vegetation and because of their tall stature, are able to graze the tops of shrubs and small trees. Cheeses made from Loper milk never spoil, even after decades. The older the Loper cheese, the finer and more valued a delicacy it becomes. Nilderfiend are ferocious predators and are one of the most blood-thirsty creatures encountered. They possess not one but two pair of arms with clawed hands making them all the more vicious in their brutality. Nilderfiend don’t just hunt and kill prey for food, but also for the bloodlust. They seem to revel in the mauling, ripping and tearing of flesh. They go into a berserk frenzy at the sight or smell of blood and their rampage knows no limit. They are incredibly strong and natural sprinters. Their skin is thick and near impossible to penetrate. Their back is beset with a double row of triangular shaped bone plates. Though they have but one large eye, it is capable of seeing great distances across all visible light spectrums, infrared and possibly even some forms of radiation. The gaping mouths of the Nilderfiend are riddled with thin, dagger-like teeth that grow in a chaotic, intertwined horror. Their heads are bestowed with two deadly horns that are large, pointed sharp and used frequently as weapons. Nilderfiend are not to be trifled with. They are among the deadliest of creatures used to populate ecosystems. Caution is strongly urged in their presence. Chule are native creatures of Denebren 6 that inhabit the countless swamps and marshes of its diverse ecosystem. Lumbering and large, they are terrifying when encountered in the wild. Possessing large, emotionless eyes, they are able to see through the murkiest and dankest of waters. They feed by two means: they are able to strain the brackish waters for nutrients with long feeding tendrils and they are true carnivores as well, able to rip apart and devour many different types of prey. Their long hand appendages are strong and give them vice-like grips to rip both trees or plants and animals apart. They seem to have adapted to both aquatic and surface existence. The large organ that comprises the majority of the mass on their backs serves two purposes, first to store swamp water and second to store liquid fat deposits. This seems to allow the Chule to travel great distances away from the comfort and safety of the swamps and marshes without the need to eat or drink for sometimes days at a time. While not typically aggressive, Chule have been known to protect and defend their nesting territory with frightening displays of behavior and eerie banshee-like screams. It’s also advised to circumvent the Chule during the mid-cycle hot season as this is also their breeding season and they become easily agitated and often resort to violence and deadly attacks. The Feral Tangris of planet Sunolian IV is a large feline species prized among the Linoli and Genoi civilizations as riding mounts and guard animals. Capable hunters by nature, their sharp inquisitiveness and tendency to out-think their prey made them excellent creatures to domesticate. Fierce and strong, the Feral Tangris are as impressive in the wild as they are as mounts in battle. Their claws are razor sharp and their eyesight is keen and capable of seeing in infra-red. Their scent organs are able to pick up odors over great distances which make them formidable trackers. Their hearing is also impressively sensitive. They are able to hear movement many hundreds of yards away. Needless to say, it is impossible to sneak up on a Feral Tangris. Their numbers were scarce in the wild, but breeding in captivity has greatly increased their number as well as their temperament towards sentient species. Once the sacred guardians of kings and royalty, they are now often utilized by both Linoli and Genoi armies in war on the battlefield, typically pitted against each other. Strikingly colored and striped, they are easily recognizable. Feared and revered by many, they are truly a sight to behold. Emerald Garantula

The Emerald Garantula is one of many giant spider species in the Void Nebula region of the galaxy. The Garantula are unique in that one set of their limbs have evolved into arm-like appendages as opposed to legs. They also have what appear to be the beginnings of another set of limbs on the back of their abdomen. Since they have evolved to walk on only six pair of legs, they are no longer technically considered to be arachnids, despite possessing many typical qualities of spiders. They are able to spin massive, strong webs capable of ensnaring very large animals, which they cocoon to feed upon at a later time. Their venom causes death within seconds, allowing the Garantula to inject the victim with a secretion that liquefies the internal organs. The Emerald Garantula tend to live in jungles and forests as opposed to some of the other varieties of Garantula. They hunt primarily during the day, choosing to lie in ambush at night or tend to their webs and snares. Their skin is hard and plate-like and not easily pierced. They are extremely fast despite growing to such enormous proportions. Fortunately, they do not stray far from their web - a saving grace for lost or disoriented adventurers. The Rotaneryx Terrodontus was a ferocious predator from the Pre-Saurian Period on planet Sethis Prime. It was one of the few species that managed to survive the great Kyden Asteroid impact that killed off nearly ninety five percent of the known species on the planet. This gave them an evolutionary advantage since there were no other predators that survived the event. Keen sight and impressive olfactory and auditory senses allowed the Rotaneryx Terrodontus to remain the apex species for more than 20 million years. They had opposable digits on their clawed hands and larger claws on their powerful feet. Their heads were adorned with a large boney crown that they used to ram smaller creatures into unconsciousness or knock over and stun larger ones. If this tactic did not work, they would spit a sticky resin onto the faces of their prey that would cause blindness and paralysis. They were extremely fast and were able to leap twice their own height, making them nimble climbers. Their most notable feature though were the two long, bone spikes that protruded from above their hind quarters and back. Possibly the vestigial remains of an earlier adaptation, the spikes were immense in size. It’s unknown if they were used for defensive purposes or as status symbols for mating. One thing is for certain, the Rotaneryx Terrodontus were the evolutionary ancestors of the dreaded Rotan civilization. The Toa Rift Stalkers are beasts of burden that serve the Memnoch Daemons. Believed to be lumbering cave dwellers originally, they were genetically modified to enhance their already impressive strength and musculature stature. However, this did not come without some side effects. Their strength is now outmatched only by their unbridled ferocity. To this end, the Memnoch Daemons typically enslave them in a dense, Adamantium-polymer alloy harness. Partially domesticated to pull ore carts or remove native iron trees or boulders, their bodies are often scarred from the whips of their task-masters. Their teeth and fangs are especially sharp and continue to grow all their life. It is not uncommon to see some Rift Stalkers with fangs more than a foot long. Aside from their pungent odor, their other notable trait is their voracious appetite for rotting flesh. The Rift Stalkers disdain from eating fresh meat. They prefer meat that is a week or more old - the more rancid and rotting, the better. While disturbing to most, the promise of this ‘delicacy’ is the principle means the Memnoch Daemons used to tame them. The Terox is a giant, dinosaur-like creature native to the planet Tilathus. Being one of the largest predators among a planet full of predators, it is prone to attack anything that moves. The Terox have an over-developed sense of smell which allows it to not only catch the scent of another animal over five miles away, but also allow it to distinguish between fresh and rotting flesh. Its razor sharp claws and teeth are perfect for ripping into the hides of animals or for warding off foes in defense. Its vision seems to cover both the visible and infra-red spectrum of light – a bonus since the Terox prefer to hunt at night. The short spikes that adorn their heads and back serve no defensive purpose; rather they are used to attract mates during their short and infrequent breeding cycles every five years. What's most surprising about the Terox though, is that for a creature so large, it possesses remarkable speed. There was a silent moment when we thought about him & then we all ran towards the hanger. Upon entering, this creature - that I have dubbed "Queen" - was pulling the ship apart. The soldiers fired on it & it ran, taking I noticed a significant amount of the ship & engine with it. The buggers I thought, they are trying to pen us in, keep us in their hive. Tunnel Gants are ‘Nature’s Miner’. Sometimes a blessing, but more often times a curse, they are known for the vast networks of tunnels they create. They can excavate a tunnel ten feet in diameter and 50 feet deep in just eight hours time, often revealing veins of ore, spice deposits or precious gemstones along the way. Thus, they are a great boon for discovering new resources. However, their ever growing network of tunnels has been known to undermine terrain to such a degree that collapse is eminent and often the case. Tunnel Gants actually bore their way through hillsides and mountains by pounding the soil with their huge, rock-like heads and then using their strong padded feet to kick the debris out behind them. The tough skin of their bodies constantly secretes an oily residue that helps to slough off dirt and rock and also serves a defensive purpose: its foul odor is a pungent deterrent to would-be foes. Naturally blind, they smell out roots and tubers with an array of scent organs at the front of their heads. For such large creatures it’s amazing they survive and grow to such huge proportions on so simple a diet. Tunnel Gants tend to live in herds of no more than twenty-five in number and seem to employ a hive-mind collaborate effort in how they dig and network their tunnels. Crillpede are a gigantic variety of hunter insects that have mysteriously spread across a number of systems in the Nebulon Expanse. It is believed they originated on the planet Vindus Prime prior to its sun going supernova. One theory as to how they spread to so many systems is that the eggs of the Crillpede are encased in a dense carbon outer coating, not unlike that of diamonds. The eggs can lay dormant for hundreds of years and are able to withstand extreme heat and the vacuum of space. Thus, it’s highly possible the eggs of unhatched Crillpede were blown off Vindus Prime at the time of the supernova and carried to far off systems by solar winds. This is unfortunate as Crillpede are decimating to any planet’s ecosystem. They have a voracious appetite and though they are carnivores, they have been known to strip swaths of land of all vegetation when no other food sources are available. Their body’s exterior is comprised of a plated outer shell and a hard scaled skin which is further protected by poisonous barbs. They have a split tail appendage they use as a weapon that secretes a deadly venom. Crillpede are solitary creatures thankfully, and are neither male nor female - but rather, some combination of both. Therefore there is no need for Crillpede to interact with each other. The adult Crillpede typically lays thirty eggs once every fifty years. Their low numbers is what has prevented them from completely destroying numerous worlds, but they are still a menace to be kept in check on populated planets. If animal prey is scarce, then Driftstalkers will wander to lower altitudes and warmer climates to gather plants and fungi. On icy arctic nights, their awful howling is often heard echoing across the glistening alpine valleys.

Leave it to the humble headcrab to bring the phrase "I've got crabs" a whole new meaning! Based mostly off HL2's headcrab. Was done at the request of a fellow named figge. Despite the zillons of crabs (or 500+ hits for "headcrab" so far) on here, why the hell not try one? It animates well; the front creepers move fairly approximate to a real headcrab, and with the weird sidework I've done, it has a little red sinky mouf for chomping heads. The current feet with jump stats I did not like, so I will be holding out until better comes along. :S Its jump is still very headcrab-like, so feel free to download this fella' and see for yourself. With the Spore Creature Creator, debeaking crabs has never been so easy!

The Mist Dragons were epic beasts of legend. For millennia, stories of these creatures have been passed down among the civilized planets of the Labrynthian Expanse and beyond. Believed to originate on one of the planets in the Taub-Nab system, they mysteriously managed to spread to a few hundred worlds across a large number of solar systems. It has been hypothesized that an ancient space-faring race saw within the Mist Dragon something of nobility or grandeur that prompted them to spread these creatures among the stars to ensure they would never become extinct. Unfortunately, all their efforts were ultimately in vain as the Mist Dragon were hunted as trophies or killed for their scales, organs, blood and bone. For the Mist Dragon was a remarkable creature. Their scales are lightweight and indestructible. They were used in ancient times by many civilizations as heat shielding for spaceships or defensive plating. Their organs served thousands of medical purposes from universal tissue grafts to cures for ‘un-curable’ diseases. Their blood possessed a regenerative effect that not only served the Mist Dragon well, but also other species. To this day the ancient toast “For the blood is the life!” is still used before battles – an homage to the days when war-faring civilizations would cover themselves in the blood of the Mist Dragon before going into battle to stave off injury and immediately heal wounds of all types. Highly intelligent and viciously quick to kill, they typically maintain a solitary existence. However, during breeding season the Dagon come together and become pack hunters. The Dagon have a scaled, armored body and large claws on their fore and hind feet capable of grabbing hold of even the most formidable prey and holding it tight. They are agile, yet muscular creatures that range in length from 15 to 22 feet. Their mouths are lined with razor sharp teeth designed to slice into flesh quickly. They have developed excellent vision as they are able to spot and track their prey through hazy atmospheric conditions or in poor, subdued light. They are fast, formidable hunters and if introduced to new ecosystems, quickly become the Alpha predator. The Dergon are an evolutionary offshoot of the Dagon on Planet Pagan. Separated by little more than 10 million years of evolution, the Dergon are slightly smaller, flightless cousins to the Dagon. Despite retaining vestigial wings, they cannot fly and only use them to attract mates. However, what they lack in flight they more than make up for in speed. The Dergon are extremely fast, agile creatures. Unlike the Dagon, the Dergon inhabit the lowland regions of the planet and primarily hunt the dense jungles and forests. They are solitary, apex predators and have been known to take down prey three times their size. The Dergon possess many of the same physical traits as the Dagon, yet there are noticeable differences. Their forelimbs are short and they run with just their hind legs. While they have powerful claws on their feet, the claws on their forelimbs are slightly shorter; possibly an adaptation to their strong, opposable grip. Their face is elongated and instead of razor-like teeth, they have sharp, dagger-like fangs of varying length and shape. This allows the Dergon to take huge bites out of their quarry and rip chunks of flesh away at a time. In addition to a tough, densely scaled body, they have sharp, pointed ridges along the length of their spine which serve to deter other would-be predators. Their vision too is remarkable. They are excellent night-hunters and hunt by sight, rather then by smell, and are able to spot movement miles away. Therefore, if you see a one in the wild…it’s already too late. Sydney went looking for her missing freind unaware she was going the wrong way. Instead of arriving at Cloverfield she ended up in Sydney, Austalia. They Possess the Tarantuan gene to alter its venom to overcome its prey’s defenses and the bloodlust of the Neon Reapers. So that no distortion will give away their presence they must remain motionless and wait for their prey to come within striking distance.
